Making Movies 101–Movie Creation from Script Writing to Screening

Making Movies 101 is a year-long creative filmmaking lab where students learn how movies are made from the inside out. In the fall, students develop original stories and write short screenplays while learning the essential principles of cinematic storytelling. In the spring, they transform those scripts into finished films, gaining practical experience in producing, directing, scheduling, budgeting, and post-production. By the end of the year, students will premiere their completed short films for family and friends. This course blends creativity, discipline, teamwork, and real-world filmmaking skills in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
