Course Description

In this course, students learn about food preparation and preservation, gardening, and meal planning. Classes alternate between instruction (the chemistry of cookies) and hands-on application (baking cookies in class). We have units on bread making, canning (water bath and pressure cooker), baking, cooking, and basic gardening.

Homework Expectation

None to minimal. Students may be asked to be bring an item in for class, including a canning jar.

Resources

No texts required. Students will need some canning jars.
